2020 COVID-19 Impacted MRP Season

31st July - A Covid-19 and Communications Update

Covid Safe Spectator Regulations

With Covid-19 outbreaks occurring it is a timely reminder for all our MRP Tribe to follow the Government Guidelines regarding CovidSafe regulations. We cannot become complacent: Social Distance, Hand Hygiene, Check-in and Check out of your Clubs.

The MRP uses Skype and WhatsApp

Keep Informed, Use both!
WhatsApp: Our Coaches will be communicating using WhatsApp. This is where you can confirm attendance, be notified of things like session cancellations.

Skype: Our MRP Administration Team use Skype to notify you of any operational and administration communications. This is also a great place for you to share photos from your Sessions.

Both are very important so ensure you stay in the know!

Best,
The GingerCloud Team

Covid-19 Drop Off and Collection guidelines

The QRU Guidelines relating to Covid-19 rugby group size restrictions of 20 people per playing area means that no spectators or observers are allowed in the proximity of the playing field. You may walk your Player through to any registration points, to their field of play, and collect your Player from the field exit points at the end of the session.

If you feel that your child needs you close to the playing area during the time of play, you have 3 options:

1. Participate as a PlayerMentor

2. Nominate yourself as Team Manager

3. Nominate to be a Parent Support person

Currently, these are the only positions other than MRP Players and Coaches allowed on or near the field of play. For more detail check this weeks’ E-News or contact Fiona Walker admin@mymrp.org

2020 Participation Requirements: Registration

This weekend is the perfect time to re-check that your Player and PlayerMentor Registration and Expression of Interest (EOI) for the MRP Season 2020 has been completed!

1. If any information has changed or needs updating please do so on the MRP Website

2. Once updated click ‘save’ then ‘submit’. (These buttons are located at the bottom of the screen)

AND

3. All Players and PlayerMentors must be registered with your club via Rugby Xplorer.

We require both registrations to be completed by the close of business on Monday 6th July 2020 facilitating all Players and PlayerMentors to safely get back on the field.

As part of the current Covid-19 environment each club will be implementing a “check in” process prior to the participants accessing the field of play. The process may differ per club but the requirements are consistent at each Club and will take place at each Adapted MRP Session (Unless Covid related regulations change). We and the Clubs will communicate these processes as they become available. (For more detail check this weeks’ E-News)

Finally: Support the MRP to get back on the field before End of Financial Year

With End of Financial Year fast approaching, we’d love your support to get the MRP back on the field in July! Given the new COVID-19 world we’re in, there are many new requirements including sanitisation materials, new hard copy Coaching Kits for all our Coaches as well as specific cleaning equipment.

Our goal is $12,000 by 30 June COB so please spread the word!

These costs are all unbudgeted  so any support you’re able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

DONATE to make your contribution.

Best,
The GingerCloud Team

 PlayerMentors – We need you!

Given competing priorities of our potential and existing PlayerMentors - truly the magic of the MRP - we’ll need your help to fill some positions this season, so you’ll see some new faces in PlayerMentors roles in 2020 - some teachers, other adults, and just those passionate about rugby. Furthermore, if you have a family member or support worker who can help, or if you know anyone who has always wanted to get involved, now is the time! (Contact Fiona, admin@mymrp.org ).

  PlayerMentor School and University Information

With the Adapted MRP starting in mid-July, PlayerMentors will have received a request from Fiona Walker admin@mymrp.org to provide their school or University information (if we don't already have it on file).

We would like this information as soon as possible so that we can approach schools to source additional PlayerMentors for the 2020 season.

This season will be tricky for our PlayerMentors, particularly those at school, as there will be competition for their time and potential conflict with school sports across Term 3. Please spread the word if you know anyone who would like to get involved, even if they are unable to commit each week.

This season we are also encouraging adults to get involved *Please note that anyone over 18 will need a Blue Card to participate*

This season will be more like a Come and Try for new PlayerMentors who may like to get involved long term. For more information, please contact Marc Eslick, Chief Operating Officer marc@gingercloud.org

We are getting closer every day to seeing you back on the field! We can’t wait.

Best

 The GingerCloud Team.

17th April 4:30pm - MRP/GingerCloud E News

Whilst recent reports seem to indicate that some office work and domestic travel restrictions may be lessened in five weeks or so, we still have no further updates about Club Sport.

We all wish we could get off the sidelines and into the main game soon but we honestly don’t know a timeframe at this point.

Please keep an eye out on Rugby Australia’s (RA) website and social media.

We note that this morning, World Rugby Announced a $150 Relief Fund to help member unions during the COVID – 19 crisis.

As soon as we hear anything more around timing, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Please stay safe everyone!

Best,
The GingerCloud Team

19th March 8:15am - Skype

During this challenging time, our highest priority is the health and wellbeing of all our players, coaches, families and the wider community. Following the directive by Rugby Australia (RA) on Monday evening that all community rugby activities will cease until the 2nd of May 2020, GingerCloud's Modified Rugby Program (MRP) activities will also be postponed until that time.

As the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve, we will be guided by Government and Rugby Australia's policies.

We note that this morning the Prime Minister and Chief Medical Officer reiterated the importance of Social Distancing to limit the spread of COVID-19. Here is the link to this morning’s Media Conference in full.

The key elements highlighted include limiting the number of people in non–essential, in door gatherings to less than 100 and maintaining 1.5m between all attendees.

As a community, we are committed to doing all that we can to reduce the risk to those most vulnerable in our communities.

We are also developing new ways to keep us all connected – albeit electronically – until we can all get out to training and games again.

Watch this space for updates which will include some fun on our social media platforms!

Stay safe and thank you for all your continued support during this challenging time.

Thanks so much,
The MRP Team

13th March 4:30pm - Newsletter

In terms of COVID 19 and GingerCloud Foundation’s Modified Rugby Program (MRP) activities this season, we are in regular contact with Rugby Australia (RA) and will follow their advice in terms of Club rugby activities this season.

In terms of specific updates, RA has reiterated the importance of not sharing water bottles in line with regular health directives.

Please note that either today or Monday, if you have already registered through RugbyExplorer, you will receive an update via that system as well.

From a GingerCloud perspective and based on the current health advice, if your child is unwell during the MRP season, please wait until they are well to bring them back to training and games.

Importantly, in the event that your child’s school is closed due to a positive test, it is important to follow Health advice to self-isolate MRP Players and PlayerMentors for 2 weeks.

We are also instructing our Coaches to adopt specific methods to clean MRP equipment, in line with industry sanitisation guidelines.

Shortly, we will send a link to a separate page on our mymrp.org website which will link to Government Health and related updates.

As a start, here is the link to the Federal Government Advice Page https://www.health.gov.au/health-topics/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov

Please consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding your child’s specific medical condition.
